Marinated tomato mozzarella
Tomato Mozzarella Marinated is an extended recipe for the ever-popular Caprese. This variation will captivate you with its greater number of flavors, so you should definitely try it. Whether as a salad substitute or as an evening meal really a poem.
- 4 balls of mozzarella (125 g each)
- 6 tomatoes
- 1 bunch of basil
- for the marinade
- 1 lemon (peel and juice)
- 1 tablespoon walnut oil
- 5 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- some salt & pepper colored, coarsely ground
Today I would like to introduce you marinated tomato mozzarella, which is a variant of the classic Caprese, which in turn consists only of tomato – mozzarella – basil and olive oil. I go a step further here and give the tomato slices a bath in a tasty marinade that brings even more flavor out of this very simple dish. Let yourself be surprised and come with me on a little journey in the direction of “taste that tastes like more taste” -> Free quote from a TikToker with a good 2 million followers and questionable arrangement in his think tank.
Start making marinated tomato mozzarella with freeing the mozzarella to dry well.
But what is this ominous mozzarella? Currently there is a small misconception in the WWW, here I think especially of Facebook, where people tell they would drink their mozzarella and afterwards do not know what to do with the enclosed white ball … and already here are absolutely and without exception ALL wrong! The white ball and the cheesy liquid are there to keep the actual mozzarella moist and smooth. And… BINGO… already you should know that basically the shell is this legendary mozzarella! It says so in big letters, mostly in blue. It could all be so simple, if the pöhse foot people would not make it so complicated. (personal note: I should take my pills more regularly ^^⁾
When you’re done frowning after that explanation, pluck the basil leaves from the stems, wash the tomatoes, free them from the stem end and cut them into slices of the same thickness as the cheese balls. Place the tomato slices on a plate.
Mix the ingredients for the marinade, let it infuse briefly and then drizzle it over the tomato wheels. Leave the marinated tomatoes to marinate for a while.
Then you start to build small towers out of mozarella, the tasty tomatoes and the basil leaves. As you can see, we are going in a completely different direction, since the original is only two-dimensional and served on a flat plate.
Finally, pour the remaining marinade over these “caprese towers”.
TIPP FOR Marinated tomato mozzarella
The variant of marinated tomato mozzarella is in itself a nice dinner on balmy summer evenings, but it also goes wonderfully as a side salad with grilled food or light poultry dishes such as chicken fillet in pizza dough.
